Question How to Run Vanilla Server Cheats on a Paper Server?

Hi, I'm hosting a vanilla server on my own computer under Linux.
Switched to papermc yesterday. It's running but I cannot enter the usual cheats e.g. gamemode I'm used from vanilla after the slash.
Server/Game properly updated.
Who can help?

You need to make yourself an operator using the op command in the console.

Correct syntax on the console was

op PlayerName!
